Compton Petroleum Corporation is an independent, public company actively engaged in the exploration, development, and production of natural gas, natural gas liquids, and crude oil in the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. We are listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol CMT and on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol CMZ. Our capital stock is included in both the S&P/TSX composite index and the TSE Mid-Cap index.

 

Our focus is on the Deep Basin portion of the Sedimentary Basin, which extends from Northwest Alberta and British Columbia to the United States border. In this large geographical region, we pursue two types of resource plays: a shallow gas resource play, targeting the Plains Belly River and overlying Edmonton Horseshoe Canyon zones, and the three deep gas resource plays that include the Basal Quartz sands at Hooker, the Gething/Rock Creek sands at Niton in central Alberta.
